Anastasia MAXWELL-LAWFORD
Anastasia MAXWELL-LAWFORD has been a lawyer at the Brussels Bar since October 2021.
She holds a Master's degree in law, specialising in European law, obtained from the Université Catholique de Louvain-la-Neuve. She also holds an additional Master's degree in European governance, obtained with great distinction from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
Of dual British and Belgian nationality, she has always been drawn to cross-border issues, particularly private international law. From the beginning of her career, she has directed her practice towards the immigration law and private international law, with particular expertise in issues of economic migration, Belgian nationality, parentage and surrogacy.
Alongside her work as a lawyer, she is a member of the Human Rights League and of the Private International Law Commission of the Brussels Bar, and has served as a visiting expert at the Université Libre de Bruxelles. She is also co-author of the book Economic Immigration in Belgium, published in April 2025.
She works in French and English, and supports her clients with an active listening, a human approach and a great rigour. Patient and dedicated, she handles each case with care, offering tailored assistance adapted to the specifics of each situation, while ensuring the effectiveness of the solutions provided.
